Shallow gas discoveries made as long ago as the 1970s are finally being commercialized. Long considered a nuisance, the costs and technical challenges are now available to commercialize this resource. Chevron appears to be on track to commence production near year end.

Reading the article on offshore-mag.com it can be infer some of the strengths of a major international oil operator Attractive energy markets are challenging oil operators to tap those resources than in the past resulted to expensive to develop Know how, expertise and experience in similar gas fields are being used to commission those reserves in a very demanding timeline Europe energy demand from such a high quality gas is guaranteed and will lesser Europe dependency from Russia Finally this project seems to be a show case for excellence in managing large capital projects pulling different technologies such as platform construction, compression, pipelines in a very demanding timeline and achieving milestones which is one result of a well managed project which could be achieved on time, within budget and with the quality needed.
