Cable MSOs And Mobile Communications

Major cable operators such as Comcast and Time Warner are now counting on Clearwire's WiMAX networks as their entry vehicle into mobile communications to match the range of offerings (fixed and mobile voice and broadband, and video) of major telephone company competitors. Other cable operators with the same objective in the U.S. and elsewhere prefer mainstream 3GPP (WCDMA, later LTE) wireless networks as their mobile platforms.

Congratulations to Clearwire. However, this does not mean the end to the WiMAX-LTE Wars. In fact this is going to likely ramp up the fight.
