GSK withdraws sNDA for Avodart as prostate cancer chemopreventative drug

Dutastaride (Avodart) has been used for treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hypertrophy. It has been shown effective in reducing prostate volume, symptoms related to prostatic enlargement and PSA blood levels. Glaxo Smith Kline has withdrawn their supplemental New Drug Application for Avodart (dutasteride) in order to update their application. This drug has great promise for this disease
