The EC brings WTO case against China’s export restrictions on raw materials

The article looks at some of the legal and commercial issues involved in the latest case brought by the EC against China at the WTO. The dispute, which sees Mexico and the US also involved, focuses on the commercially critical policy of export restriction, which is increasingly being used by China and other WTO Membersin order to seek certain objectives of domestic price stabilization, but which often also provides domestic producers with unfair competitive advantages. Are they WTO consistent?
