It's official!  The largest transportation electrification project in history has started.  This morning on 10/1/2009, eTec announced that they have officially signed the $99.8 million grant with DOE to start installing Electric Vehicle Infrastructure in 5 States.

Question: Does this move help Ford jump into the innovation mix that has recently left them behind? The short answer: Yes, it helps somewhat.  Ford, like every large Electric Vehicle company, needs to work with DOE's Clean Cities and Smart Grid to ensure there is somewhere their customers can charge their new cars, pay for it, and not take down the grid doing it.
