LED TVs use Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) as part of their display. This allows the TV to be thinner and lighter than LCD and Plasma TVs, as well as consume less electricity. Currently, the price of an LED TV is about twice that of an LCD TV. This will converge over the next 24 months, with LED TVs eventually displacing LCD TVs in retail.
