CCS may yield positive important future farming industries.

UK launches "CCS economic zone" | www.powergenworldwide.com

Political and industrial efforts to capture CO2 will help clean up former industrial practices, but perhaps more importantly they may yield radical and highly effective future farming industries.  As stronger efforts are made to clean the burning of fossil fuels,  various methods of CO2 storage, disposal and use will necessarily result.  One major potential use could be more competitive and efficient production of natural products and foods.

Electrical Energy: Storage or generation?

September 30, 2009

Boing! Elastic Energy-Storage Systems Could Challenge Li-ion Batteries | www.popsci.com

The perfecting of electrical storage is an appealing endeavor, but is it the most effective way to improve electric vehicles and devices?  It seems most technicians involved in electrical energy related studies have lost track of where electrical energy comes from and completely fail to address this issue.  We have a very wide array of battery technologies available today,  but the study of induction has been completely ignored (generator technologies).  My opinion is that research scientists need to take a new look at significant advances in induction studies that can greatly reduce the need for battery storage, before investing large resources into micro refinements of existent electrical components.

First hand account of Condo market in turmoil

October 16, 2007

Report:Condo Market Cools | www.landscapeonline.com

Data from the source article shows the condominium market on a sharp decline this year.  As a former condominium owner (from 2002 through 2005) I offer several solid explanations for me and others abandoning condominiums. First came problems financing my condo, resulting in an exhorbitant intrest rate.  Next came problems with the unit itself.  I am a general contractor, and as such I performed my own inspection.  The place had been cleaned up well, but after moving in, it became clear that the original construction was minimal and below current regulations.  I performed many repairs and upgrades myself. The real problem came after I started attending homeowners association meetings.  I soon learned of their methods of stacking the books, and diverting resources to themselves.  I ended up in court with them, as they never fixed the leaking walls with water dripping on switches.  Unbelievably, I lost in court completely. My mother lives in a condo, and is having identical problems.

Stuck in the dolldrums

Tilting At Windmills | www.forbes.com

I would agree that wind power will not be the savior of any energy crisis. The scale of construction required/ initial investment greatly excedes the energy return. Being an inventor of a patented revolutionary dc electric generator, my work in this specialized energy field has gone essentialy unnoticed.  My belief is that all corporate and government regulations and investments are made on an 'easiest and most proffitable solution' basis.  I have found little interest in exploring alternate theories of energy origination, including wind power.

Hotel boom will bring opportunity

August 1, 2007

After Hiatus, Hotel Construction Booms | online.wsj.com

I surmise that the rise in hotel room prices is a reflection of the decline of the US Dollar worldwide.  The boom in hotel construction is primarily occuring near coastal international vacation areas.  Although I live far from such areas, Other general contractors and I would be happy to at least temporarily relocate in order to participate in such large commercial projects.  There also appears to be an increased focus on luxury construction details that is refreshing, and attracts detail oriented contractors such as myself. -Bryan Strohm  8/01/2007
