Much of the contention between terrestrial radio service providers results from competition for the use of sparse radio spectrum.  If the radio spectrum was expanded by an order of magnitude, much of the  bickering and cat fights would disappear. Alternatively, improving efficient use of the spectrum will have a similar effect....temporarily.

WiMax will be allocated an RF spectrum bandpass, and as the service grows in popularity, users will be stepping on eachother more and more   Any protocol is designed with a multiple access waveform is capable of interoperating with other band sharing devices or competing waveforms, up to a maximum number of users at any instant.  Expanding operating coverage to a high usage area 10's of square miles will be self destructive, and likely taint WiMax as a YAFT (yet another failed technology). 

Relevant Technologies Justify Investment. Otherwise, save your money.

HO HUM, More high tech for techies There are already too many services that are available that are not being used because of their limited appeal, capability and their mind numbing complexity. How about the ordinary non-technically savvy adult struggling with life issues?  There is an enormous market among these folks that are being ignored.  They have some discretionary $$ to spend on relevant  and easy to use  widgets.  Those will develop the Internet markets and then justify investment in yet another widget environment.
