Q.C.-FORGET ABOUT HE CHINESE GOVERNMENT! IT IS UP TO THE IMPORTER.

July 12, 2007

China Finds Poor Quality on Its Store Shelves | www.nytimes.com

AFTER THIRTY FIVE YEARS AND HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PRODUCTS AND DOLLARS  OF IMPORTING EXERIENCE, YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT HE CHINESE GOVERNMENT IMPROVING QUALITY CONTROL. IN A SOCIETY THAT AFTER 20 YEARS HAS MADE LITTLE OR NO PROGRESS IN PROTECTING U.S. INTELECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, HOW DO YOU EXPECT Q.C.?

WE ALL  KNOW THE RAMPANT CORRUPTION OF CHINESE GOVERNMENT OFFICALS AT ALL LEVELS.  THE IMPORTER MUST TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO DO IT THEMSELVES. THE IMPORTERS MUST HAVE WELL PAID  WESTERN Q.C. MANAGERS.

3RD PARTY LABS SUCH AS CTL AND MTL ARE EXCELLENT WAYS TO DOUBLE CHECK. THE ONLY 2 RETAILERS IN MY EXPERIENCE THAT DO A GREAT INSPECTION JOB ARE WAL-MART AND K-MART/SEARS.  WITH THE TREND FOR RETAILERS TO "BUY DIRECT" WITHOUT ANY QC INFRATRUCTURE ARE DISASTERS WAITING TO HAPPEN.  IT MUST BE UP TO THE IMPORTER TO CONTROL HIS PRODUCT.
