Sears Brings Back its Wish Book | blogs.reuters.com

Interesting to see Sears back in the catalog business after a long absence.  Things are not the same anymore considering the number of catalogs people receive today. It may evoke nostalgia in the "older" people, but the younger generation don't remember things as they used to be, and perhaps care less.

UPDATE 3-Finlay to buy Bailey Banks & Biddle for $200 mln | today.reuters.com

Zale decided to sell BB&B because it did not fit in with Zale & Gordon.... Too upper end and took too much time based on the return. If that is true, it is almost identical to the Finlay operation....which is maybe a bit below the Zale-Gordon niche. Funny how 2 companies can see things differently.

Crocs---Sure took a while to come up with the hospital analysis!

Hospital Bans Crocs Over Static Risk | www.telegraph.co.uk

  Crocs footwear has been on the market for several years and one of the earliest applications and heaviest sales involved nurses and other hospital people. They are light, extremely comfortable and inexpensive. They have now assumed popularity nationwide for the same reasons. If the static problem can truly be proven and the dangers specifically outlined, the owners of Crocs should be given the opportunity o respond and perhaps find a fix.
