Mr. Elgan confuses old tech with new and comes up with a questionable conclusion. He uses the example of HDLogix and the disastrous experiment with the Dallas Cowboys as an example, proving the point that he's the one who doesn't get it and not the executives to whom he points.
Keeping perspective is important, this article loses it.

At $300 million and counting, high expectations for James Cameron's 3D 'Avatar" are to be expected. Will this be another "Titanic' or Cameron's undoing is also a question heard on the streets of L.A. Either way, the stunning 3D cinematography will no doubt propel support of 3D. But the only thing that is really unique about it is that he had $300 millon to do it with.
