This was a retrospective clinical study of 21 eyes from 12 patients who identified themselves as being dissatisfied with their visual acuity and were interested either in initial or enhancement refractive surgery in order to improve their acuity. Uncorrected visual acuity was documented in each eye. If there was a positive tear normalization test, indicating dry eyes, silicone punctal plugs were placed in the lower lids of both eyes. Uncorrected visual acuity and patient subjective responses were assessed at least one month later.
