Over the last five years many large pharma companies have expanded rapidly in emerging markets. Leading among the pack are  Glaxo, Pfizer, Novartis, AstraZeneca and Bayer.Others are not far behind. MNCs have been smart in integrating emerging markets into their core operations. What needs furthet attention is a keener understanding on the part of MNCs re the operating environment in emrging markets and  management cadre of more people with deep experience of operating in EMs.

Reading between the lines .. this appears to be a tactic to get more deals done quickly by scaring buyers of government intervention. Indian generic pharmas have gotten undreamt of valuations.Others are drooling over these.
