Nokia continues to dominant the handset and smartphone market globally (38%, 41% respectively, in Q2), but appears to be loosing ground in the smartphone market as a result of fierce competition in the high-end smartphone market. Competitors (AAPL, LG, Samsung, HTC.proofreadTickers.showMenu(this, 'TPE,2498')">, Palm, RIM) appears to do a better job in terms of UI and user experience. Competition is set to increase in the coming years. But Nokia could fight back based on recent focus on low-end touchscreen smartphone market and new devices.
