New technology has been developed that may play a role in the treatment of sepsis and hypoostension. This involves the development of a vagal nerve stimulator. A start-up company based in New Jersey- Electocore, has looked at animal models of epsis and hypotension and has found significant merit in their unique electrical signal for nerve stimulation to treat hypotension related to sepsis.
