Paulson urges Dow to close Rohm and Haas deal | money.cnn.com

The Rohm and Haas deal for Dow is an interesting acquisition, considering the portfolio scenario of Rohm which in the chemicals sector is substancial. I think Dow would definately collaborate with Paulson to complete this deal, considering the impact this would have on Dow's operational arena and service structure in the future. Also with the view of time element , I see Dow utilising  Paulson's experience and insight to secure this deal.

I think the huge rise in crude feedstock costs is quite an interesting scenario. Most of the major Oil producers and explorers are being cautious where production volume is concerned due to depletion of certain reserves and their attention on untap petroleum feedstocks such as shale , tar and investment  in upcoming renewable energy factors such as wind , biodiesel , and others. The price dynamics would change regarding the costs per barrel quiet soon I should think as demand for jet ful and diesel reaches a plateau.
