WHERE HAS ALL THE BUSINESS GONE - LAKE LAS VEGAS SUFFERING
March 31, 2010
Lake Las Vegas is a very upscale community about fifteen miles S.E. of the Las vegas Strip. Private homes - 1700 of them surround three very beautiful golf courses, Lowe's Hotel and a Ritz-Carlton would be considered the anchor properties for the area. The MonteLago Casino is a few steps from the Ritz and well located within the Italian style village retail shopping promenade. Sounds great, but business is in distress and so are the properties mentioned above.........
PENN NATIONAL NEEDS TO MAKE SURE LAS VEGAS IS A MARKET THEY REALLY WISH TO ENTER
April 23, 2009
PENN (PENN NATIONAL GAMING) STALKS LAS VEGAS STRIP FOR BARGAINS AS MGM, HARRAH'S BATTLE DEBT LOAD | www.bloomberg.com
Could the timing for a purchase by Penn National entering the Las Vegas gaming arena be slightly premature for them. Is this truly the market area that would fit into their family of properties? Can this be a mistake on their part, by looking into a type of higher end gaming establishments?
LAS VEGAS IS NOT OFF TO A GREAT START IN 2009 - IS THERE A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR THE GAMING INDUSTRY
April 14, 2009
VISITATION SLIPS 8 PERCENT IN FEBRUARY DESPITE DEEP DISCOUNTS - (LAS VEGAS) | www.lvrj.com
With statistics showing a rather slow start for 2009, can the Las Vegas gaming industry show some promise for the remainder of the year? Where will the business come from to create added revenue? Will the slight signs of the national economy improving create some incentive for people to head to Las Vegas?

ANYONE HEARD FROM KIRK ..... (Kirk Kerkorian-MGM,MGM/Mirage) | www.lvrj.com
Can the CityCernter 9.3 plus billion dollar project on the Las vegas strip get completed without help from Dubai World? What should we read behind the litigation recently against MGM by D.W.? Could they be looking for a bigger stake in this project?

MOVEMENT AFOOT AMONG HOTEL OPERATORS TO REINVENT LAS VEGAS YET AGAIN | www.lvrj.com
Can new thoughts of marketing the Las Vegas gaming arena hold water? How can this be achieved during such a poor and receding economy. Where do these guests get new money to finance these vacation trips? Las Vegas has been reinvented several time with varying affect. Can a new effort take hold?
BUYING INTO STATION CASINOS COULD BOLSTER BOYD GAMING'S STATURE IN THE LAS VEGAS LOCALS MARKET
March 2, 2009
BOYD'S NET LOSS OVERSHADOWED BY POSSIBLE STATION BUY | www.lvrj.com
This possible purchase by Boyd Gaming Group of some of Station Casinos properties could help Boyd's position in the local market. My thought is that where does it leave their mega resort The Echelon that was recently halted on the Las Vegas Strip. It would seem more prudent to get this project on the road again. By any standards, the locals market has been in a state of flux to say the least. No doubt Boyd is anticipating a superb deal from Station Casinos. The time may be ripe for a transition of properties. It remains to be seen just what the real reaction from Station will be.
STATION CASINOS A GOOD BET TO GET PAST THIS POOR ECONOMY
February 16, 2009
STATION CASINOS SUED OVER REORGANIZATION PLAN - (LAS VEGAS) | www.lasvegassun.com
A reorganization plan will certainly aid in lowering debt service. Is this enough of a stimulant to keep things on an even footing until there is some type of a recovery in the economy? Does a law suite, at this time, really help either side? Should all of the involved parties get together to solve the differences with out the lawyers getting involved with a suite? Should the best interest of Sation Casinos properties be the main concern - I think so.....
CAN PENN NATIONAL MAKE PROGRESS WITH THE PURCHASE OF A LAS VEGAS STRIP PROPERTY
February 9, 2009
CASINO OPERATOR STILL SHOPPING FOR A STRIP PROPERTY - LAS VEGAS | www.lvrj.com
Penn National has the cash to make a deal. Is there a property that is enticing enough to get Peter Carlino's attention. ( Number 1 at Penn National) He wants a strip hotel and the numbers might seem high, but if your really interested - it's the time. Can he make a success in this very high flying gaming area?
A NEW CASINO PROPERTY OPENING IN LAS VEGAS IS ALWAYS A WELCOME EVENT

DEVELOPER HOPES "M" IS MAGNETIC - "NEW LAS VEGAS HOTEL" | www.lvrj.com
The proper blend of tourist and local trade is a must for this property. It would be a serious stretch to say the "M" is on the strip - it is located on Las Vegas boulevard, however, on the farthest southern part the is still considered in the city. It will be a rough task to make this property meet all of the owners expectations.
IT WILL NOT BE A EASY PROCESS RESTORING REVENUES BACK TO WHERE THEY SHOULD BE

NEVADA - GAMING REVENUES FELL FOR THE 11TH STRAIGHT MONTH | www.lvrj.com
How to approach dropping revenues? Where will the needed business come from in 2009. Has the industry finally bottomed out? Will the bailout packages and government incentive programs give the added disposable income needed for tourism to get back to normal?

MGM MIRAGE OPENS CityCenter's JOB APPLICATION PROCESS | www.lvrj.com
Has the gaming industry started to turn the corner? What's the outlook for 2009 and is it possible to get out of the poor market by years end? Where will the business come from. How should the industry market their goods and services during 2009? Can all the properties survive another poor business year?
THE CASINO GAMING INDUSTRY HAS REACHED A VERY SERIOUS DOWN PERIOD
December 12, 2008
GAMING REVENUE DIVES AGAIN - RECESSION HAMMERS STATE'S CASINOS | www.lvrj.com
Gaming figures are substantially down. The tourist influx has faded to rather poor numbers. How to deal with the recession, depression, business downturn, or what ever label we wish to place on it, is on every companies agenda. It has been for quite a while. What is the answer - hard to say at this point.

OWNERS OF THE TROPICANA APPEAL-OFFICALS ASK REGULATORS TO RETURN CONTROL OF BELEAGUERED PROPERTY TO THEM | www.lvrj.com
Is it beyond possibility to get the Tropicana Atlantic City back under their control? How would the recapture of this property help the outlook for the future of Tropicana Entertainment? Will the New Jersey Gaming Commission really look favorably on this possible return of this property to Tropicana Entertainment hands?

SHUT DOWN HARD ROCK'S GAMING, STATES ATTORNEY GENEALS McCOLLUM SAYS | www.miamiherald.com
What benefit to the State of Florida would be closing several hotels and casinos? The loss of jobs, revenue and other valued assets is outlandish. The Attorney General must need some economic tutoring - he is way off base - could there not be other ways to approach the situation the Seminole's face with full blown Las Vegas style gaming?
THE CASINO COMPANIES WITH PROPERTIES IN MACAU CAN REST A BIT EASIER
October 15, 2008
MACAU UP, BUT STRIP WEAK - WYNN RESORTS | www.lvrj.com
Will the play in Macau continue to give a big boost to American based companies? I am sure, that as the market starts to recoup you will find added interest in this area of intense gaming. I can't think of another place that creates as much dollars invested by players on a regular basis. It's what is keeping some of the top gaming companies looking better than expected during the business and economic drop.
THE GOVERNMENT OF CHINA ADDING TOURISM RESTRICTION FOR MACAU
October 6, 2008
MACAU DROP-OFF HURTING LAS VEGAS | www.lvrj.com
Tourists restrictions in general usually will help bring more interest to an area. In the case of Macau, the Chinese powers to be seem to be hurting business. What's their plan - there is to much investment capital invested and planned to be invested for the government to be brainless in this matter. It does not say much for the top decision makers and their business and marketing prowess.
JUST ANOTHER HIT FOR LAS VEGAS WHEN THE GAMING LOCALS MARKET NEEDS SOME HELP
September 26, 2008
BUSINESS SHUTS LAS VEGAS AUTO OUTLETS - TWO DEALERSHIPS CLOSE IN SLUMPING ECOMOMY | www.lvrj.com
The closure of an auto dealership in general is no big deal. The loss of many dealerships under the same banner can't be a good sign. The trickle down effect of losing jobs could hurt gaming in the local market. Loss of income means less people at the gaming table and slots. We can hardly afford more problems.
LOOK LIKE "IGT" IS NOT THE ONLY GAMING RELATED BUSINESS TO FEEL THE DOWN TURN
September 18, 2008
IGT TO IMPOSE LAYOFFS | www.casinocitytimes.com
Seems that the only way most companies can cope with business being off is to cut payroll. Laying off good staff member is not the way to go. There are other measures that can be worked out. How much will these reduced staff actually help IGT, and is it premature to think that there is a break in the gloom and doom coming in 2009?
MGM MIRAGE NEW CITYCENTER PROJECT LOOKS LIKE A SOLID WINNER FOR LAS VEGAS AND THE GAMING INDUSTRY
September 17, 2008
DESPITE ITHER STALLED PROJECTS, CityCenter STILL ON TRACK | www.lasvegassun.com
How will this beautiful new mega resort affect the dynamics of the Las Vegas gaming industry.? Will it start a trend as the Mirage did when it opened in1989? Can other top properties keep up and expand to keep up with this new trend?
IS THERE A LINE TO BE DRWN BETWEEN INDIAN CASINOS AND GOVERNMENT
September 16, 2008
INDIAN POWER AND GAMBLING | www.latimes.com
Can California Indian gaming have the last word when dealing with government and it's representatives. Why such a big deal over charity gaming? It seems as though the Tribes already have a pretty solid monopoly.
