DEALERS RUFFLED OVER WYNN PLAN TO SPLIT TIPS WITH SUPERVISORS | www.kesq.com

The entire Las Vegas Gaming Industry is keeping close watch at what transpires at The Wynn. It could lead to other major properties following along. The effect of taking away cash from a line employee could make more waves than are needed in a otherwise well run industry. Investors might want to take a step back and see how this can hamper employee relations.

Web Casinos Becoming a Riskier Bet for Investors | www.nytimes.com

Web gaming in general is a rather risky business for the player. The investors on the other hand have to look deeply into just what they are getting into. At this writing any large investment into Web Gaming does not seem like a good move. With the U.S. Government putting a damper on this form of gambling, it might be wise to sit back and see if the bag is going to be full or empty.

WORLD SERIES OF POKER - UNEASY DEALINGS | www.reviewjournal.com

The World series of Poker is not to be sneezed at. It's a remarkable event that is a very strong bottom line aid for Las vegas. It comes when things are slower than usual and last almost two weeks. A very solid impact on the local economy.

HARRAH'S, BOYDS LAND SWAP STALLS-OR DOES IT | www.reviewjournal.com

It's a very good deal for both companies, however, it sits better in Boyds camp than Harrah's. The land swap will have significant appeal for both properties. The impact on the strip could be significant as it would increase footage on the strip for both groups involved.

MANY TRIBES NOT CASHING IN ON GAMING | www.thedesertsun.com

The California Tribes need to sit up and take notice. They are starting to alienate less fortunate tribes and by doing so place a bad taste in everyone's mouth. There could certainly be a very real backlash if the more fortunate tribes with casino properties don't give help where it's very much needed-

CALIFORNIAN CLAIMS CASINO'S PREYED ON HIM | www.reviewjournal.com

What are the ramifications of gambling related lawsuits against the casino's? They are for real, harmful and in most cases "PUT UP" jobs. The basic fact is, casino's are here to make money, not to control what a player does with their money. Rest assured, the hotels do make every effort to help problem gamblers, however, in most cases it has proven to be useless and thankless endeavor.

STRIP FLIP IN THE OFFING | www.reviewjournal.com

Harrah's has made a move that may backfire on them. They have picked up options on the strip property where the Westward Ho was located. They are looking to exchange properties with Boyd who owns the Barbary Coast. This could be a better situation for The Boyd Gaming Group than for Harrah's. It remains to be seen if this deal can be made. There could be strong implications in the offing for both companies regarding this swap.

TRIBAL GAMING GOVERNMENT ISSUES

July 28, 2006

SENATORS STALL McCAIN'S BILL ON GAMING | www.azcentral.com

More government control over the gaming industry will leave a very bad taste. Control by States involved, is good way to keep casino's in their jurisdiction in line. Outside forces with little or no knowledge of this vast industry could hurt the future growth rather than help. Less hands, trying to do the same job, is where we need be aiming our efforts.

STUDY SAYS TRIBAL CASINOS HELP ECONOMY | www.hotel-online.com

It's not brain surgery - open a new business and it is expected to aid the communities they serve. It a two way street with the customers buying the goods and services and the business adding to the community. It's the way it should be, however, not all concerned reap the treasures of this partnership.

Landry's Restaurants, Inc. Announces Evaluation of Strategic Alternatives for its Joe's Crab Shack and Saltgrass Steak House Chains | www.restaurantnewsresource.com

Landry's has a duty to its customers to either improve the product they are serving at Joe's Crab Shacks or declare them fast food restaurants. They do themselves a real disservice by pretending they are more than what they are at this point.

HARRAH'S HAS A PLAN FOR THEIR LAS VEGAS GAMING

July 24, 2006

LOOKING IN ON GAMING - II | www.lasvegassun.com

Harrah's is definitely going about buying up property in and around the Las Vegas strip in a very quiet, smooth manner. Another large project can only enhance to future of the strip and they seem to be on track for that. More jobs, more revenue, more tax base for the State and City. Their future keeps getting brighter.

CALIFORNIA TRIBAL CASINOS ADDING MORE SLOTS | www.signonsandiego.com

More slots, more revenue. It has a direct bearing on the Tribe and the surrounding communities. It's a cash cow that cannot be ignored and it seems that the Governor of California is making good use of additional funding provided by Tribal Casinos.

IT LOOKS LIKE THE PALMS HAS IT GOOD WITH PLAYBOY

July 21, 2006

LOOKING IN ON GAMING | www.lasvegassun.com

In this day and age, the competition is so great that there must be some marketing ploy to acquire new guests. The Las Vegas casino market will not allow a top notch property like the Palms to sit dormant. They and for that matter all the hotels need to continue to establish new and dramatic ideas to increase customer count.

SO, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL - JUST ANOTHER TRIBAL CASINO | www.record-bee.com

There is always an impact on the communities that allow Indian Gaming. Most of the time it's a real plus for the area in for the form of jobs, added cash flow for the community retailers and certainly an aid to help the Tribe involved. Generally the tribe will be influenced by the prospect of "out of proportion" added income. Not always a true measure for the Tribe.

Golden Nugget Las Vegas Sold TO Landry's | en.wikipedia.org

Landry's, the new owner,  has the opportunity to make a major impact on the downtown redevelopment. The Golden Nugget is certainly the top dog on Fremont Street and it remains to be seen if they can keep that image. This is a very special area of Las Vegas Gaming and will test the ability of the new owners to create and develop new business.

THE TIME HAS COME TO CHANGE THE LOOK OF THE LAS VEGAS STRIP

June 28, 2006

PROJECT CITY CENTER - A NEW LOOK FOR THE LAS VEGAS STRIP | www.reviewjournal.com

The start of the PROJECTCITYCENTER will make a major impact not only to the Las Vegas Strip, but to the future thought of just how a new hotel/casino should look. It will certainly put a new face on the casino industry. Steve Wynn's building of The Mirage was seen as a radical change in the hotel and gaming industry. This new project is as important now as The Mirage was in 1989. It may even be a more striking change.

Is this really the best move for the La Posta Council

La Posta Band Readies County's Smallest Casino | www.indianz.com

What implication can result in the building of a very small casino in the San Diego area? Not really very much as the competition for the local trade is significant. What will bring in the guests to support this new casino? If you are depending on personal service and commitment to the customer loyalty - all the Tribal casino's have the same intention. It takes just a bit more than that to survive in today's market.

A key move by Stations Casino's

June 22, 2006

Inside the Red Rock Casino | www.kvbc.com

The impact of a casino in a fairly high end residential community is significant. It certainly has shown that with good taste this property has made radical inroads with the local casino trade. Having withstood many obstacles from the community regarding fears that a casino would not be a good for the area and reduce property values, the locals have now accepted and embraced this beautiful hotel resort.
