She is an expert in marketing, merchandising, retailing and building strong brands. Ms. Stauffer was previously EVP, Market Development for PRN, a digital place-based media company. She was also SVP, Marketing/CMO for Gateway Computers, a US $4 billion multi-channel PC OEM & direct marketer that included the eMachines brand. Prior to that, she was President and EVP, of Good Guys, a specialty retailer of consumer electronics. She helped grow from a single store into a US $1 billion dollar business. Cathy was responsible for all product categories - TV, audio & video components, digital cameras, mobile phones, video games & accessories. Since taking over Radio Shack in 2006 Julian Day has taken a very methodical, first things first approach to getting the house in order, beginning with controllable costs: cutting SG&A, closing underperforming stores, consolidating multiple service and distribution centers, improving inventory management and de-cluttering stores all the while being very mindful of cash.
