Charles Bennett, MD, is a board certified Radiation Oncologist at the Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute, Florida. He specializes in breast, prostate and metastatic cancer treatment with radiopharmaceauticals. Dr. Bennett has participated in several national forums dealing with radiopharmaceautical use for metastatic cancer, and well known for his knowledge of the treatment of prostate cancer. He also utilizes brachytherapy in his practice treating all tumor sites with HDR and LDR treatments, including prostate seed implants and Mammosite breast brachytherapy. Dr. Bennett’s practice also incorporates IMRT/IGRT and Sterotactic Radiosurgery into the patient’s alternatives, in conjunction with allied medical oncologist. (This is me - Update Profile)

SenoRx has released the Contura system which provides a superior system when compared to the Mammosite Breast Brachytherapy System. These advantages include: 1. Better dosimetry, opening the door for more patients to be treated by avoiding the elimination of some patients due to skin spacing and chest wall considerations. 2. Better reimbursement due to the use of multiple dwell positions used versus just one with the Mammosite system. 3 Ability to drain fluid collection via drainage ports of the Contura system that are not available with the Mammosite system. The SenoRx system is poised to take a large percentage of the market share away from Mammosite.
