Dr. Charles O'Shaughnessy MD

Council Member Biography

Charles O'Shaughnessy, MD, is the Director of Interventional Cardiology at the North Ohio Heart Center in Ohio. Dr. O'Shaughnessy is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He has over 30 years of experience in the field and his primary interests include interventional drugs and devices. Dr. O'Shaughnessy’s clinical interests include coronary and peripheral interventions. He performs approximately 650 percutaneous coronary interventions and 350 peripheral interventions per year. Dr. O'Shaughnessy is very active in clinical research and he is a leading enroller in clinical research trials involving new interventional devices or drugs, including trials such as Resolute, Cypress, Agility, Zilver PTA, Perseus, Endeavor III, Endeavor IV, Spirit III and IV, Inhibit, Velocity, Deliver, Pride, Captive, and Costar II, SIRIUS, TAXUS among others. He received his MD from the University of Ohio Medical School. Dr. O'Shaughnessy completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Cardiology Residency at Akron City Hospital.
