Prior to joining the consulting team, Mr. Whelan managed Frost & Sullivan's North American medical devices subscription services group. He is regularly interviewed by media sources such as Forbes, Time, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and ABC World News Tonight. Mr. Whelan has specialized knowledge in the multi-billion dollar medical technology industry, with specific knowledge related to the orthopedics and surgical devices segments. He has analyzed the markets for minimally invasive surgery products, hearing instruments, dialysis equipment, spinal surgery, neurostimulation, and many others.
