Council Member Biography

Christopher Boone is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cimbal, software based payment network that turns a smart phone into a replacement for cash, debit and credit cards. Mr. Boone was previously the CEO of Visuvi, a visual search engine with patented technology in content based image retrieval leading a successful company sale. He was the President and CEO of AppCentral a desktop virtualization company. Mr. Boone was the a Director, Business Development and Senior Leadership Team member heading corporate strategy at Excite @ Home and a VP, Investment Banking at JP Morgan in New York City, focusing on corporate finance, M&A, structured products and derivatives. Mr. Boone specializes in payments, mobile technologies, Internet software, telecommunications and corporate finance. Mr. Boone has authored over a dozen patents on payment systems, virtualization and network security. He holds a Bachelor of Science, medical physics from the University of Notre Dame. Reshuffling the executives at Yahoo is indicative of the company and its board, recognizing that Yahoo is falling behind Google and the Nasdaq. Positioning Sue Decker with operations and revenue responsibilities will make for a more logical successor to Terry Semel. Yahoo still lacks the strategic direction, growth and revenue diversification to surpass Google.
