Council Member Biography

Christopher D’Arcy is a Private Sector Consultant at Clark & Weinstock in Washington, D.C. He specializes in the areas of trade, agriculture, food safety and marketing, bioterrorism, water, power, and resources issues. Mr. D’Arcy has represented Oxfam America, Viatrace, the Motor & Equipment Manufactures Association (MEMA), California Dairy Institute, and the United Arab Emirates. Previously, he was Vice President for Government Affairs at Will & Carlson where he represented the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the largest water agency in the world. Mr. D’Arcy also served as Staff Director to the House Subcommittee on Livestock and Horticulture for Chairman Richard Pombo (R-CA).The Subcommittee has broad jurisdiction over the production, marketing, regulation, and safety of livestock, dairy, poultry, fruits, vegetables, and wine. During his service on Capitol Hill, Mr. D’Arcy was intimately involved in the legislative process surrounding both the 1996 and 2002 Farm Bills, being especially focused on food safety, animal welfare, bioterrorism and country of origin labeling. He is also a regular lecturer at the Wharton School of Business on the topic: effective communication with government by business leaders. (This is me - Update Profile)
