Chris Murphy is a Partner of Saul Ewing’s Labor, Employment, and Employee Benefits Group in its Philadelphia office. Mr. Murphy has handled matters including union avoidance and representation issues, proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, mass picketing and injunction litigation, collective bargaining, workplace safety, wage and hour matters, grievance administration, and labor arbitration. Additionally, Mr. Murphy has experience in the defense of employment discrimination and wrongful discharge claims, drafting employment contracts and separation agreements, disputes concerning restrictive covenants and trade secret issues, drafting employee handbooks and personnel policies, and unemployment and workers’ compensation claims. He has also handled employee benefits matters ranging from initial plan design and qualification to withdrawal liability disputes. Mr. Murphy regularly counsels employers and multi-employer employee benefit plans on issues of regulatory compliance. He has litigated numerous ERISA, COBRA, and other benefits-related cases as well.
