Council Member Biography

David Cole is a Director at Chelgate Systems since 1989. He is an Executive Director in several companies in cards and payments, including Caribbean Electronic Payments, Safetipay, Transaction Processing Solutions and Smart Direction Online Services. Mr. Cole has 30 years of experience in cards and payment services with particular emphasis on applications in the payment card industry. Over the last 15 years, he has been involved heavily in the emergence of smartcards and the EMV standards and has become an exponent in the use of smart cards across all market sectors, to exploit and utilize the opportunities the technology provides for expansion, efficiency and increased profits. Mr. Cole has expertise in smart cards, payments processing, outsourced processing, smart card software and hardware, card production, multi application cards, cashless society, PCI data security, loyalty, mobile payments, fraud prevention, and the use of smart cards in security, access and loyalty.
