Council Member Biography

David Mandel, MD, has been providing care in adult Rheumatology for 28 years. He has expertise in clinical research and is a thought leader in the field of osteoporosis. He has authored many articles on Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis. He has been involved in research trials in Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Gout, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, and Dupuytren's Contracture. He has developed research trials for emerging therapies and new anti inflammatory medications. He is the ex- President of the Ohio Association Rheumatology. He advocates for patients with arthritis, educates payors and government officials about adequate reimbursement for Rheumatology services and new treatment. He is a member of the International Society of Extremity MRI, which educates physicians about the use of MRI for the diagnosis of inflammatory arthritis. He is also trained in the use of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound for the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis care. (This is me - Update Profile)
