Mr. David White

Council Member Biography

David White is Managing Principal at Riskapital Advisors, an Australia-based independent consultancy specializing in securities and banking products, fixed income, equity and credit derivatives, as well as stock exchange and futures exchange regulation. From March 1995 to April 1999, Mr. White was an Executive Director and Commissioner at Securities & Futures Commission in Hong Kong. He was also a public officer on the Panel of Financial Affairs. Earlier, he was the Managing Director & Deputy CEO of the Australian Stock Exchange. Mr. White has provided extensive advisory services in Asia and Africa for the Asian Development Bank, African Development Bank, and The World Bank / IFC. He has provided expert witness services on the Barings Bank liquidation, and numerous market manipulation cases against leading firms such as Merrill Lynch, Credit Lyonnais and Credit Suisse. Mr. White has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Recent consulting experience has been in Botswana, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Nigeria.
