Derom Bangun is the Founder and Chairman of PT Kinar Lapiga, an oil palm plantation company. Mr. Bangun is also Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Palm Oil Board (IPOB) and Advisory Board Member of the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) and a Member of Board of Commissioners at Tolan Tiga Indonesia. He has over 22 years of experience in palm plantation industry. Mr. Bangun also founded and co-managed from 1989 to 2005 PT Konsultan Tri Upaya, a consulting firm providing services to plantation companies ranging from supervision of the establishment of oil palm plantation to design and supervision of the erection of palm oil mills and refineries. He served the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) as 2nd Vice Chairman from 2004 to 2011. Mr. Bangun spoke at international conferences on palm oil and biodiesel in India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Dubai, Singapore and USA. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology and attended Senior Executives Program at Sloan School of Management at MIT, Massachusetts as well as Vegetable-oils Trading Course held by the Federation of Oils, Seeds, and Fats Association (FOSFA) in London. He is also a commissioner of an oleo-chemical industry of P.T. V V F Indonesia. (This is me - Update Profile)
