Don Gracey is the President of The CG Group in Toronto, Canada. He has experience in healthcare professional regulation, regulatory and other requirements for foreign investment into Canada; privatization of government-owned enterprises or assets; politics at the national level and in Ontario and security and intelligence. He has considerable experience in senior positions in the Government of Canada beginning as an assistant to the Minister of Agriculture and as Assistant Secretary, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in Australia. He was also special advisor to the Chairman of the (Saskatchewan) Crown Management Board and President of the Crown Investments Corporation. He has undertaken projects in several countries for the World Bank and from 1988 to 2000 was the Executive Director of the Senate Special Committee on Terrorism and Public Safety/Security and Intelligence. On Tuesday December 14, the Government of Ontario announced a plan to privatize, in whole or in part, some of its Crown corporations (i.e. state owned enterprises). The prime candidates for privatization include HydroOne (owns and operates the electricity transmission infrastructure), the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (licenses liquor retail outlets and operates its own retail chain) the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (regulates and partners with licensed gaming facilities in Ontario).
