Council Member Biography

Douglas Benham is the Chief Executive Officer at DNB Advisors, a strategy, sales and operations consultant. He also serves on the Board at O’Charley’s and Sonic Drive-in Restaurants and holds advisory roles with Sunshine Restaurant Group (the largest IHOP franchisee), Stevi-B’s pizza, and Lanier Parking Systems. Mr. Benham was until April 2006, the President and Chief Executive Officer at Arby’s Restaurant Group. There, he revitalized a 40 year-old $3B dollar quick service concept including rebuilding the management team, repairing franchisee relationships, turnaround of company-operated units, and brand and marketing repositioning. Mr. Benham was instrumental in acquiring RTM Restaurant Group, Arby’s largest franchisee, in a transaction valued over $700M. He reversed negative system sales trends achieving positive annual system same store sales including three of the highest monthly comps in the past 15 years.
