Mr. Douglas Lloyd

Council Member Biography

Douglas Lloyd is Founder and CEO of VB Research, which he co-founded in late 2005. Prior, he worked in corporate finance and private equity/venture capital for 12 years in London, Paris and New York. He began his career at HSBC Investment Bank (London and Manchester) and was then recruited to Close Brothers Corporate Finance (London and Paris). Most recently, Mr. Lloyd was Head of European Investment Banking at WR Hambrecht + Co. in New York. He is currently an adviser to Sandpiper Investments Limited, an operationally active investor in small growth companies. Mr. Lloyd has extensive experience of working with dynamic private and public companies as an advisor raising equity capital, providing strategic advice and working on buyside and sellside mandates. At Close Brothers he was the fund manager for the highly successful First Close Technology Fund, which invested in companies including Active Hotels and Bango. (This is me - Update Profile)
