Council Member Biography

Dwight Davis is the Principal of Davis Electronic Solutions (DES) doing business as RadioShack in Pittsboro, North Carolina, since 2003. DES represents and sells Verizon, AT&T and Sprint postpaid cell phones and Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, Cricket, TracFone, Net 10 and ATT prepaid phones. It is the largest and most diverse provider of cellular phones and related accessories in Chatham County, North Carolina. The other lines carried by DES include GPS systems (Garmin, Magellan, TomTom and LandAirSea), Dish Network, XM & Sirius Radio, MP3 players, IPOD and IGO power platform. It has established distribution relationships with multiple distributors such as RadioShack, 21st Century, Infotel, DBL Distributing, Petra Industries, Dow Electronics and Tessco Technologies. It also provides a service component addressing on-site installations and computer service. Mr. Davis has extensive financial and investment experience. He has worked with several companies which include Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith. Mr. Davis retired from the health care industry after over 25 years of experience in health care sales, operations, administration and medical device manufacturing. During his time in the health care industry, he was responsible for leading multiple start-up companies, several of which went public in the 1980's. Much of his career is centered on the delivery of alternate health care services for high risk patients, specifically pediatric and obstetric patients in the home environment.
