Gaurav Shah, MD, is Professor of Ophthalmology at the Washington University Medical Center in Missouri. Dr. Shah is a national expert in the care of patients with diabetic retinopathy/diabetic macular edema, age-related macular degeneration and retinal detachments, as well as the economics of retinal healthcare. He has been involved in the pivotal trials and publications regarding Macugen, Lucentis and PDT and is working on new combinations of PDT and Avastin. Dr. Shah has presented at many national and international meetings and has published over four book chapters and approximately 100 peer-reviewed articles. He is an elected member of the Retina Society, the Macula Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Shah is also involved in 15 phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials dealing with ARMD and diabetic macular edema, dry macular degeneration and new drug delivery devices. He is Editor and Chief of the Retina Times (official publication of the ASRS (American Society of Retina Specialists). (This is me - Update Profile)
