George Slusser is the Chief Operating Officer of Sperry Van Ness International and is currently based in Georgia. Mr. Slusser is responsible for organizational growth, development, and the day to day operations of the business. Mr. Slusser consults on M&A, profitability enhancement, and strategic planning in the commercial and residential brokerage industry. His experience prior to joining Sperry Van Ness includes serving as a Principal in a successful commercial real estate advisory firm, President and COO of Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate, and he held various senior executive positions with Cendant, GMAC, and Merrill Lynch respectively. During his tenure, he helped lead the company to record growth and three years of 20%+ annual increases. Mr. Slusser has participated in over 150 acquisitions for all of the brands of Cendant, GMAC Real Estate, Merrill Lynch Realty, and major independents. Better Homes Real Estate To Be Revived by Realogy | www.realestatejournal.com
Realogy(Now owned by Appolo) recently announced a long term agreement with Meridith Corporation to license the name Better Homes & Gardens for a 50 year term. This move allows Realogy to return to its strength of selling franchises and building a brand. Although technically a start-up there is great brand equity in the real estate community and a fondness for the old BH&G Franchise.

NAR is correct to classify the decline in Realtors as victims of the current housing down turn. What the article does not tell us - the decline will be beneficial for both the consumer and the remaining real estate agents.
