Council Member Biography

Gunter Schoech is the Founder and Managing Director of Debrouillage, a management consultancy specializing in power -generation, -transmission and - distribution, automation, industrial infrastructure, rail transportation, and medical sectors, analyzing the competitive landscape. Debrouillage has offices in Munich, Shanghai and Bangalore, and has advised midsize and fortune 500 industrial clients as well as institutional investors globally (incl. e.g. PEs and funds) in >> 50 projects of sevearl months each. The company's focus is to provide facts, figures and insights, not only generic concepts. Prior, Mr. Schoech was project manager at Siemens Management Consulting, the in-house management consulting service at Siemens. He was responsible for managing global consulting projects in automotive, industrial solutions and services, building technology, power generation, and automation and control segments at Siemens. Mr. Schoech has experience in developing strategies, sales increase, restructuring, purchasing, innovation strategy etc. He holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. Prior to Siemens, Mr. Schoech worked at Renault (global strategy), France and at Ford Motor Company (advanced manufacturing technology development) Detroit. What is being described about EDF in France is equally true for the 4 large German Utilities E.ON, RWE, Vattenfall and EnBW. Banks have increased the equity criterion to 30%, up from 15% historically, and demand additional insurances. The ensuing fiancing problems of smaller developers now allows the utilities to catch up in the alternative energies, which they had neglected previously. They can acquire locations, equipment and know how at low prices, while relying on their strong cash flow from operations.
