Council Member Biography

Harutake ASHITATE is currently a senior consultant at Big Picture International. Between Aug 2007 - Sep 2008, he had a position at BPI and also had a position as a manager in the strategic partner development department of Google where he was in charge of strategic partnerships for Google and Youtube in Japan. Prior to Big Picture International, he was the general manager of the strategy department of Index Corporation, a media conglomerate centering on mobile content distribution, and led several M&A projects including the acquisition of NIKKATSU Corporation, where he served as director of film business strategy; Takara/Tomy toy company; and investment in Cinemanow, a US B to C video on demand company. Prior to Index, Mr ASHITATE was the manager of business development at Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan where he handled VOD licensing approvals, contract negotiations, technology reviews and business coordination with the TV licensing division. Prior to Sony, he worked at GAGA Communications Inc where he was assistant manager of the International and Domestic Acquisition Department. (This is me - Update Profile)
