Council Member Biography

Harvansh Chawla is Founder and Managing Partner at K. R. Chawla & Co., New Delhi. He specializes in Corporate law, Mergers and Acquisition, Legal Due Diligence, foreign equity restrictions and caps and Foreign Exchange Regulations in India. Mr. Chawla also advices on setting up operations in India and obtaining necessary regulatory approvals from the government authorities; setting up of NBFC's in India, drafting of Software License Agreements, End User License Agreement and other related agreements; registration and enforcement of patents and trademarks, infringement actions and advising software and IT clients on intellectual property rights in India. He was selected by Ministry of Finance, Government of India to prepare the Counter Guarantees for all infrastructure projects in India. Mr. Chawla is also one of the first lawyers in India to do legal work on the privatization of ports in India. He is a member of Inter Pacific Bar Association and Indo-US Business Council.
