Himadri Banerji is a Chairman and Managing Director at EcoUrja which with CYMI MASA, a Grupo ACS company of Spain is providing consultancy and management services in renewable energy especially in solar thermal, CSP, Solar PV grid connected power plants, transmission and distribution and in conventional fossil power. He is also the Treasurer at ISPM, International School of Project Management, a Non Profit Organization. Previosuly, he was the Chairman and Managing Director at Bas Management Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Executive Officer in the EPC Division of Reliance Energy, and as the CEO of BRPL and BYPL, the Reliance owned distribution utilities supplying electricity to Delhi the capital city of India. With over 35 years of experience in the power sector with Tata, Torrent, RPG and Reliance groups in planning large power generating stations, project development and build of large power generation facilities (coal, gas, wind, DG, solar and nuclear), transmission and distribution systems, power equipment manufacturing, and in the past two years additionally in consulting practice . Long timelines in the project construction cycles made many utilities going broke. Even before the nuclear renaissance can really take off, one has to examine whether utilities , contractors and designers have gained from the knowledge from the mistakes of the past period with changes in the quality of design and construction methods.

It is reported that China accounted for 72 percent of the global IPO proceeds raised in 2009, Almost half the companies that went public in cleantech last year were in China, with 11 IPOs in the fourth quarter alone raising a record combined $3.1 billion.The largest cleantech IPO of 2009 was China Longyuan Electric Power Group which raised $2.23 billion on the Hong Kong exchange. China Huaneng Group, the country's largest power producer is to raise $1 billion from a Hong Kong IPO this year.

However, the global recession affected it severely. In background of this Tata steel's stellar performance in the third quarter signals a spring back for the global steel industry.
