Dr. James D'Olimpio MD

Council Member Biography

James D'Olimpio, MD, FACP, is the Director of Palliative Medicine/Cancer Pain and Supportive Oncology at North Shore University Hospital/Monter Cancer Center in Manhasset, New York, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Hofstra University School of Medicine in Partnership with North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. His expertise includes a wide range of topics in symptom control in the cancer patient and has specific research interests in symptom management, nutritional oncology, chemotherapy induced neuropathy, anorexia/cachexia, fatigue and end-of life care. Dr. D'Olimpio has consulted for companies such as Ortho-biotech, Cephalon, Cytogen, Abbott/Ross Pharmaceuticals, and MedImmune. He has also maintained an interest in anti-angiogenesis, and has been involved in research trials of such agents in the treatment of metastatic cancer. (This is me - Update Profile)
