Mr. Jay Chauhan

Council Member Biography

Jay Chauhan is of Counsel and Director at Freedom Technologies, Inc, a research and consulting firm with policy and public affairs experience at the crossroads of government and the private sector. Mr. Chauhan has co-authored a series of reports that addressed future wireless technologies and their international regulatory implications. He monitors legislative, regulatory, and technology trends that may impact spectrum interests of our clients. He worked with experienced U.S. ITU participants to develop an in-depth training program for clients’ personnel for future ITU activities including World Radiocommunication Conferences and participation in the ITU study group processes. Prior to law school, Mr. Chauhan spent eight years in the information systems industry working at CIGNA in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At CIGNA, he implemented complex information systems across the enterprise. Some of his major technology projects include development of a complex system to administer a hybrid investment/insurance product, development of a large database to support a class action lawsuit, design of a system to ensure federal regulatory compliance with U.S. Department of Treasury regulations, and development of a web system to allow customers self-service access to insurance information.
