Jed Gorlin, MD, MBA, is the Medical Director of Memorial Blood Centers and Associate Professor of Lab Medicine and Pediatrics at University of Minnesota and the Transfusion Services Director at Hennepin County Medical Center. His research includes the hematopoietic progenitor collection, processing and cryopreservation, pediatric and neonatal transfusion, pediatric apheresis, tissue sealants and adhesives, and transfusion transmitted disease testing- blood donor and patient. Dr. Gorlin's research includes nucleic acid testing for human immunodeficiency virus, hepatitis C, hepatitis B, West Nile virus, and pathogen inactivation of blood and oxygen therapeutics. Medical center responsibilities include blood and tissue usage including IVIG, recombinant coagulation factors such as VIIa. He has served as the Chairman of American Association of Blood Banks Standards Committee, an editor of journals Transfusion and Transfusion Therapies in Medicine, and a member of American Society of Hematology Scientific Subcommittee.
