Mr. Jeffrey Koppele

Council Member Biography

Jeffrey H. Koppele is a Counsel at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, where he is a member of the Taxation Practice. He provides advice on both tax and derivatives matters in a wide variety of financial transactions. In his tax practice, Mr. Koppele advises issuers, underwriters and many other capital market participants on issues relating to a broad range of domestic, off-shore and cross-border transactions. His practice focuses on complex, innovative structures, including: financial products, investment funds, corporate finance, M&A/bankruptcy and domestic and cross-border leasing transactions. In his derivatives practice, Mr. Koppele advises swap dealers, hedge funds, and other market participants in a wide variety of derivatives transactions and structures. He has worked extensively on issues of de-linking hedge counterparty risk in securitization transactions, and has developed a series of derivatives templates for use in these transactions which have become an industry standard.
