Dr. Jeffrey Perlmutter MD

Council Member Biography

Jeffrey Perlmutter, MD, is a Nephrologist in private practice in Maryland. Dr. Perlmutter has experience in the treatment of acute and chronic kidney disease including the care of patients with end stage renal disease requiring dialysis or transplantation. He is the Medical Director of an independent hospital-based dialysis unit as well as a large chain freestanding clinic. He teaches voluntarily at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Perlmutter has been a very active member of the National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area where he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors and remains a member of the board. He is Chairman of the Vascular Access Committee of the Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition (ESRD Network 5) and a member of its Medical Review Board. Also, Dr. Perlmutter is Chairman of the Clinical Practice Committee of the Renal Physicians Association. He is a member of a hospital pharmacy and therapeutics committee.
