John Cochran, MD, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chestatee Pathology Associates in Atlanta, GA, since 2000. Dr. Cochran is Medical Director of two Atlanta-area hospital laboratories and founded the first independent podiatric pathology laboratory in the U.S. He also serves as the Medical Director of Pathology Lab of Georgia (an Anatomic Pathology reference lab) and is a Pathology Specialist Surveyor with The Joint Commission. Dr. Cochran has consulted on the following entities: Genzyme, Cerner, Meditech, Beckman (Danaher), Siemens, Roche, Abbott, Aperio, Cryolife, Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, Clarient (GE Healthcare), Biorad, Ortho (J&J), Becton Dickinson, Hologic, Qiagen/Digene, Alere, Dako, Sakura Finetek, Leica, Thermo Fisher, UpToDate, Ovid, MDConsult, and McKesson. He has experience in anatomic pathology, laboratory medicine, lab automation, EMRs, medical informatics, blood banking, lab regulations, cancer diagnostics, and medical billing.
