Council Member Biography

John P. Pironti is the President of IP Architects, LLC. He actively designs and implements enterprise wide electronic business solutions, information risk management and security strategy and programs, information technology strategy, technology architecture and design, enterprise resiliency capabilities, and threat and vulnerability management solutions for key customers in a range of industries, including financial services, insurance, energy, government, hospitality, aerospace, health care, pharmaceuticals, media and entertainment, transportation, and information technology on a global scale. Mr. Pironti has a number of noted industry certifications including Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified in Risk and Information System Control (CRISC). Mr. Pironti often engaged as a trusted adviser to senior leaders and their organizations and frequently provides briefings and education sessions to them both. He is also a member of numerous advisory boards for technology and services firms. Mr. Pironti is an extensively published author and writer and is often interviewed and quoted by global media. He is also an award winning, high profile, and frequent speaker on electronic business and information risk management and security topics at domestic and international industry conferences and briefings. Information security technology vendors have been trying to catch up with the hacker community with little success in the last couple years.  Most of their tools are out of date the day that they are released for sophisticated attacks.  The hacker community has become more organized and focused on their goal to quietly make money through the use of malicious software and social engineering without advertising their capabilities.  The vendor community needs to change the fundamental ways the design and produce technology or at a minimum reset expectations on the value proposition of their capabilities if they are to continue to drive value and not become commoditized in enterprise information technology environments.
