Until October 2003, Joseph Cappy was Chairman and CEO at Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. Previously, Mr. Cappy was President and CEO of American Motors. After AMC's acquisition by Chrysler, he became a Vice President where he headed up International Operations. He was also involved with the divestiture of six non-core operations. He was successful in selling four of the six companies. Chrysler was unable to sell Dollar and Thrifty individually, so Mr. Cappy took the two public in late 1997. Prior, he spent 26 years of his career as a finance, sales and marketing executive at Ford Motor Company. From 2006-2008, he was Chairman of The Tulsa Community Foundation, which had assets in excess of $3 Billion. Mr. Cappy was the President of Southern Hills Country Club in 2008. He had 47 years of experience in the automotive industry. In May 2010, Mr. Cappy joined AAON Inc's Board, a NASDAQ company, a Tulsa based air conditioning manufacturer.
