Leighton Vaughan Williams is the Professor of Economics and Finance and Director of the Betting Research Unit at Nottingham Business School. He acts widely in a consultative capacity across the betting and gaming industries, as well as for the UK Government, and is currently senior adviser to the UK Government on betting and gaming tax policy, and on gambling and gaming regulation, policy, trends and impacts. He has published at the forefront of the international literature on betting and gaming, and has delivered keynote addresses at numerous conferences worldwide on betting and gaming issues. His work has been featured extensively, and he appears regularly, in the national and international press and broadcast media. He has significant experience as an expert witness both nationally and internationally, including before House of Commons/House of Lords Select Committees, the Competition Commission, the Central Criminal Court ('Old Bailey') and international courts of law.
