Magnus Ericsson is a Co-Founder and Senior Partner at Raw Materials Group (RMG), a firm providing monitoring and analyzing ownership, control, and mergers and acquisitions in the mining and metals industry. A veteran iron-ore watcher, Mr. Ericsson is responsible for the company's advisory services including developing government mineral policies as well as corporate marketing and expansion strategies. He has over 20 years of experience in industrial management. Prof. Ericsson specializes in the iron ore market and is responsible for the compiling of United Nations' global iron ore statistics. He has been engaged all around the world in his consultancy work, with a special focus on Africa. He also has experience in the Chinese iron and steel industry. A particular focus has been placed on developing government mining promotion strategies, including reviews of legislation and regulations and setting up innovative financial structures. Prof. Ericsson obtained his M.Sc in chemical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm in 1973 and has almost 20 years of management experience from Scandinavian industry prior to joining the RMG full time in 1991. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences of Sweden, an honorary member of staff at the University of Dundee Scotland, and a Professor in mineral economics at Luleå University of Technology.
