Mr. Mark Berman

Council Member Biography

Mark Berman is a Partner at Nixon Peabody LLP resident in New York City and Boston. He is a bankruptcy attorney who supports the securitization, leveraged finance, sports & entertainment, infrastructure and public finance practices by applying his bankruptcy expertise to their transactional efforts. Mr. Berman assists in structuring the transaction, disclosure materials, working with rating agencies and delivering bankruptcy opinions. His work has included financing stadiums, malls, military housing, tobacco securitizations and gas prepay facilities. For over 35 years, Mr. Berman has represented virtually every kind of interest that might be involved with a financially troubled business or individual. Mr. Berman regularly writes and speaks on bankruptcy and commercial law subjects and has co-authored a handbook on Second Lien Financing and Intercreditor Agreements published by the American Bankruptcy Institute.
